Training Manager

Location: Waterloo, IA
Salary: $80,000–$100,000 + Bonus
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Training Manager to lead employee onboarding, training and development, and safety compliance programs across multiple departments.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing employees, improving training programs, and ensuring teams have the skills needed to succeed.

Local candidates only. Applicants must live within commuting distance of Waterloo, IA. Candidates from Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, and surrounding communities are encouraged to apply. Relocation is not offered.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage new hire onboarding and employee training programs across all departments.
• Design and deliver hands-on technical, operational, and safety training.
• Partner with department managers to identify training needs and skill gaps.
• Develop and maintain OSHA, workplace safety, and compliance training programs.
• Track employee certifications, training records, and renewal requirements.
• Conduct skills assessments and evaluate employee readiness.
• Create and update training materials, SOPs, checklists, and e-learning content.
• Coordinate training for new equipment, processes, and procedures.
• Measure training effectiveness and implement improvements.
• Support continuous improvement, workplace safety, and employee development initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field REQUIRED.
• 3–5 years of experience in training, learning and development, or a related field.
• Strong background in developing, implementing, and delivering employee training programs.
• Experience conducting hands-on training and evaluating employee performance.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train employees across multiple departments, skill levels, and shifts.
• Must live within commuting distance of Waterloo, Iowa.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training and development experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with welding, fabrication, assembly, or production operations.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications.
• Experience managing learning management systems (LMS), training records, and certifications.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually
